1.1 Create Virtualization Platform

Prerequisites

  • Created a storage repository.
  • Created a service plan.

Steps

Step 1: Click Backup Service - Virtualization from the system menu.Step 2: Click the Add button in Virtualization Platform, and a dialog box will appear.

Step 3: Select the SmartX icon and click Next Step to enter the Add Virtualization Platform page.

Step 4: After filling in the form, click OK. A success message will appear.

1.2 Create Virtual Machine Group

Prerequisites

  • The virtualization platform has been created.

Steps

Step 1: Click the Add button in Virtual Machine Group to open the Add Virtual Machine Group page.Step 2: Fill in the parameters for the virtual machine group, including the VMs to be backed up and filters to exclude VMs that do not need to be backed up.Step 3: Select the VMs to be backed up and click OK.Step 4: Click OK again, and a success message will appear.

1.3 Backup Virtual Machine Group

Prerequisites

  • A virtual machine group has been created.

Steps

Step 1: Click Virtual Machine Group - Operation - Backup and choose either Full or Incremental backup. Click OK.Step 2: After the job starts successfully, go to Monitoring Center - Jobs - Active Jobs to view the running job.Step 3: After the backup is complete, go to Monitoring Center - Jobs - Job History to view the backup set job. The job status should be "Completed".

1.4 Virtual Machine Recovery

Prerequisites

  • A full or incremental backup of the virtual machine group has been performed.

Steps

Step 1: Click Backup Service - Virtualization - Virtual Machine from the system menu.

Step 2: Select the VMs to be recovered from the Virtual Machine list, click Add to Recovery Set, and then click the adjacent logo.Step 3: A Recovery Set window will pop up. Search for the recovery point based on the time range or recent recovery point criteria, then click Confirm.Step 4: Select the recovery point and the backup job ID to be restored, click Next, and choose Full Virtual Machine (client file recovery is not supported for now).Step 5: Choose In-Place Recovery. If the VM exists and needs to be overwritten, turn on the "Unconditional Overwrite" option.Step 6: Alternatively, choose Cross-Machine Recovery, select the appropriate configuration, and click OK.Step 7: Once the job starts successfully, go to Monitoring Center - Jobs - Active Jobs to view the running job.Step 8: After the job completes, go to Monitoring Center - Jobs - Job History to view the job and its status.
