3.0.0 Release Notes
1. Overview
UniSpace 3.0.0 was released on March 31, 2025. This release introduces new backup and recovery capabilities across file systems, databases, virtualization platforms, and storage targets.
2. Feature List
- File System
UniSpace 3.0.0 supports file system backup and recovery on Linux platforms, supporting ext3, ext4, and xfs file systems.
NEW: UniSpace 3.0.0 now supports file system backup and recovery on Windows Server platforms, including Windows Server 2019 and later versions. Supported file systems include NTFS, FAT, and exFAT.
Backup types supported: Full backup and incremental backup.
Notes: 1. Cross-platform recovery is currently not supported.

Backup and recovery from Windows to Linux systems are not supported.

Backup and recovery from Linux to Windows systems are not supported.
- Database
MySQL
- UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for MySQL databases, currently limited to MySQL 8.x versions. Supported backup methods: mysqldump and xtrabackup.
- Recovery supports in-place recovery, out-of-place recovery, log recovery, and database/log recovery to disk.
- NEW: Support for incremental backup and recovery using xtrabackup.
- NEW: Support for full-instance xtrabackup recovery to a specific point in time.
PostgreSQL
- UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for PostgreSQL databases. Supported backup methods: Dump export and Basebackup.
- NEW: Support for PostgreSQL master-slave replication architecture, with backup from slave nodes. (Log backups are only supported on the master node.)
- Recovery supports in-place recovery, out-of-place recovery, and recovery to disk.
Kingbase (Kingsoft Jincang)
- NEW: Support for backup and recovery of KingBase databases. Supported backup methods: Dump export and full-instance physical backup. Supports master-slave replication architecture, including backup from slave nodes (log backups only on the master node).
- NEW: Supports in-place recovery, out-of-place recovery, and recovery to disk.
HighGo DB
- NEW: Support for backup and recovery of HighGo DB databases. Supported backup methods: Dump export and full-instance physical backup. Supports master-slave replication architecture, including backup from slave nodes (log backups only on the master node).
- NEW: Supports in-place recovery, out-of-place recovery, and recovery to disk.
DM(Dameng)
- UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery of DM databases. Supported backup types: Full backup, incremental backup, and archive log backup. Supports master-slave replication, read-write separation, and DSC cluster architectures.
- NEW: Supports backup of virtual machine cluster structures, with options to configure backup from master or slave nodes, set priority levels, and control parallel streams through the web interface.
- Recovery supports in-place recovery, out-of-place recovery, log recovery, redirected recovery, point-in-time recovery, and recovery by LSN. Database and logs can be restored to disk files.
Oracle
- UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for Oracle databases. Supported backup types: Full backup, incremental backup, and archive log backup. Supports single-instance, RAC, and replication cluster architectures.
- Recovery supports in-place recovery, out-of-place recovery, log recovery, redirected recovery, point-in-time recovery, and SCN-based recovery. Database and logs can be restored to disk files.
KingWow
- UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for KingWow databases. Supports online backup of MG, TG, and DG data. Supports full backup and incremental backup.
- Recovery supports in-place recovery, out-of-place recovery, log recovery, recovery to a specified point in time, and latest point in time.
Xihe
- UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for Xihe databases. Backup method: Dump backup.
- Recovery supports in-place recovery, out-of-place recovery, and recovery to disk.
Microsoft SQL Server
- NEW: UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for MS SQL Server databases. Backup and recovery currently support only full backups and restores.
Notes: 1. Differential and log backups are not supported.

Only Standard and Enterprise editions of SQL Server 2019 and above are supported (Express edition not supported).

Only Windows platform is supported (Linux platform is not supported).
GoldenDB

UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for GoldenDB (both centralized and distributed architectures). Backup content includes: metadata, seq_backup_dir of GTM nodes, active transactions from active_file_directory and backup data + logs from all shards.

Recovery supports instance recovery and shard recovery, including rollback and recovery to a specific point in time. Instance recovery supports combinations of (data only; metadata only; data + metadata). Shard recovery supports restoring to the original cluster's standby node only.

VMware
- UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery of VMware virtual machines. Supported vSphere versions: 6.5, 6.7, 7.x, 8.x.
- Backup: Agentless backup, group backup, full backup, incremental backup.
- Recovery: Local recovery, recovery to specific hosts/VCs/directories, rename recovery, and cross-vSphere version recovery (within VMware's official compatibility matrix).
OpenStack
- UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for OpenStack platforms (Queens version and above).
- Backup: Agentless backup, group backup, full backup, incremental backup.
- Recovery: Local recovery, rename recovery, cross-cluster recovery.
- NEW: Supports specifying a single access node as the gateway for communication with Keystone, Volume, Nova APIs.
Huawei HCS
- UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for Huawei HCS 8.1.x virtual machines.
- Backup: Agentless backup, group backup, full backup, incremental backup.
- Recovery: Local recovery, rename recovery, cross-cluster recovery.
- NEW: Supports Huawei HCS 8.3.x virtual machine backup and recovery.
SmartX
- UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for SmartX virtual machines.
- Backup: Agentless backup, group backup, full backup, incremental backup.
- Recovery: Local recovery, rename recovery, cross-cluster recovery.
InCloud(Inspur Cloud)
- NEW: UniSpace 3.0.0 supports backup and recovery for InCloud (Inspur Cloud) platform virtual machines.
- Backup: Agentless backup, group backup, full backup, incremental backup.
- Recovery: Local recovery, rename recovery, cross-cluster recovery.
- NEW: Supports specifying a single access node as a gateway for Keystone, Volume, Nova APIs.
SANGFOR CLOUD

Storage

UniSpace 3.0.0 supports multiple backup devices, including local storage, NAS devices, object storage, and Blu-ray storage.

Local storage supports ext3, ext4, and xfs file systems.

NAS devices are supported by mounting via NFS to the storage nodes, supporting NFS V3 and NFS V4 protocols.

Object storage supports the standard S3 Compatible protocol.

Blu-ray storage supports the E-Hualu Super Intelligent Storage System V2.0.

NEW: UniSpace 3.0.0 supports the StorNext V7.x online storage system. Only NFS mount access to StorNext storage is supported.

Supports StorNext storage archiving: when backup data is migrated to object storage or physical tape libraries, recovery operations will wait for data to be restored back to online storage before proceeding.

NEW: UniSpace 3.0.0 supports WORM (Write Once Read Many) storage devices. Huawei OceanProtect X series devices are supported.

Recovery Plan

UniSpace 3.0.0 supports adding recovery plans, which automatically initiate recovery jobs based on schedules, restoring databases to disk. Supported recovery types include MySQL instance recovery, database recovery, DM database recovery, Oracle database recovery, and PostgreSQL database recovery.

Recovery plans allow selecting recovery points by day/week/month/specified dates, and support initiating one-time or recurring jobs, choosing the latest full or non-full recovery points.

NEW: UniSpace 3.0.0 supports recovery plans for GoldenDB.
