1 Overview

UniSpace 3.1.0 was released in June 2025. This release expands platform support and improves backup, recovery, and integration capabilities across databases and virtualization platforms.

2 Feature List

  • File System

  • UniSpace 3.1.0 supports backup and recovery for Linux file systems, including ext3, ext4, and xfs.

  • It also supports backup and recovery for Windows Server file systems (Windows Server 2019 and above), including NTFS, FAT, and exFAT formats.

  • Supports full and incremental backups.

  • Recovery options include local recovery, cross-machine recovery, data-only recovery, and data with ACL recovery.

Notes: Cross-platform recovery is not supported. (e.g., Windows-to-Linux or
Linux-to-Windows restore operations are not supported.)

  • Databases

MySQL

  • Supports MySQL 8.x backup and recovery.
  • Backup methods: mysqldump and xtrabackup.
  • Recovery supports local recovery, cross-machine recovery, log recovery, and restore database/logs to disk files.
  • Supports xtrabackup incremental backups and point-in-time recovery for full instance backups.

PostgreSQL

  • Supports PostgreSQL version 12.x and above. Backup methods: Dump and Basebackup.
  • Supports master-slave replication architecture and backup from slave nodes (log backup only on master).
  • Recovery includes local recovery, cross-machine recovery, and recovery to disk files.

KingBase

  • Supports KingBase 9.x database backup and recovery.
  • Backup methods: Dump and full instance physical backups.
  • Supports master-slave architecture, slave node backup, and log backup only on the master.
  • Supports local, cross-machine, and disk file recovery.

HighGo DB

  • Supports backup and recovery for HighGo DB.
  • Backup methods: Dump and full instance physical backups.
  • Supports master-slave architecture, slave node backup, and log backup only on the master.
  • Supports local, cross-machine, and disk file recovery.

DM (Dameng)

  • Supports DM8 database.
  • Backup types: full, incremental, and archive log backup.
  • Supports master-slave, read-write separation, and DSC architectures.
  • Supports backup of cluster structures and configuration via UI to select primary or secondary node, stream count, and priority settings.
  • Recovery includes local, cross-machine, log recovery, redirect recovery, point-in-time and LSN-based recovery, and restore to disk files.

Oracle

  • Supports Oracle 19C and above.
  • Backup types: full, incremental, and archive logs.
  • Supports standalone, RAC, and replicated cluster architectures.
  • Recovery options: local, cross-machine, log, redirect, point-in-time, SCN recovery, and restore to disk files.

KingWow

  • Supports online backup and recovery of KingWow databases.
  • Supports backup of MG, TG, and DG data.
  • Supports full and incremental backups.
  • Supports local and cross-machine recovery, as well as point-in-time and latest point recovery.

Halo DB

  • Supports backup and recovery of Halo database.
  • Backup method: Dump.
  • Recovery includes local, cross-machine, and recovery to disk files.

MS SQL Server

  • Supports backup and recovery for SQL Server 2019 and above.
  • Only full backup and recovery supported.

Notes:

  1. Differential and log backups/recovery are not supported.
  2. Supports SQL Server 2019 and above (Standard and Enterprise editions only, Express not supported).
  3. Windows only; Linux not supported.

GoldenDB

  • Supports Golden V6.1.x (centralized and distributed) backup and recovery.

  • Backs up metadata, seq_backup_dir of gtm nodes, active_file_directory of active transactions, and data/logs from all shards.

  • Recovery supports instance or shard-level recovery, with rollback or non-rollback to a specific time.

  • Instance recovery options: data only, metadata only, or both.

  • Shard recovery only supports original cluster/instance, recovery to secondary nodes only.

  • Virtualization

VMware

  • Supports backup and recovery for vSphere 6.5, 6.7, 7.x, 8.x.
  • Agentless backup; supports group, full, and incremental backups.
  • Recovery options: local, to specific host/vCenter/folder, rename, and cross-vSphere (if within VMware compatibility list).

OpenStack

  • Supports OpenStack Q release and above.
  • Agentless backup; supports group, full, and incremental backups.
  • Recovery: local, rename, cross-cluster.
  • Supports using a unique access node as a gateway to communicate with Keystone, Volume, Nova, etc.

Huawei HCS

  • Supports VM backup/recovery for Huawei HCS 8.1.x and 8.3.x.
  • Agentless backup; supports group, full, and incremental backups.
  • Recovery: local, rename, cross-cluster.

SmartX

  • Supports VM backup/recovery for SmartX 6.x.
  • Agentless backup; supports group, full, and incremental backups.
  • Recovery: local, rename, cross-cluster.

InCloud (Inspur Cloud)

  • Supports VM backup/recovery for InCloud platform.
  • Agentless backup; supports group, full, and incremental backups.
  • Recovery: local, rename, cross-cluster.
  • Supports using a unique access node as a gateway to communicate with Keystone, Volume, Nova, etc.

SANGFOR CLOUD

  • Supports VM backup/recovery for SANGFOR CLOUD.
  • Agentless backup; supports group, full, and incremental backups.
  • Recovery: local, rename, cross-cluster.

Storage

  • Supports multiple backup devices: local, NAS, object, and Blu-ray storage.
  • Local storage supports ext3, ext4, and xfs.
  • NAS supports NFS V3 and V4 mounting.
  • Object storage supports standard S3-compatible APIs.
  • Blu-ray storage supports E-Hualu Intelligent Storage System V2.0.
  • Supports StorNext V7.x (via NFS only).
  • StorNext archive feature supported: if data is archived to object/tape storage, recovery will wait until data is retrieved before restoring.
  • WORM storage devices supported, including Huawei OceanProtect X series.

Recovery Plan

  • Supports creation of recovery plans that automatically restore databases to disk on a schedule.
  • Supported for MySQL instance/database, DM, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
  • Supports recovery schedule by day/week/month/specific date.
  • Can select latest full/non-full recovery point for one-time or recurring jobs.
  • Recovery plans are also supported for GoldenDB.
